Choosing a wedding photographer is a really big deal. You want someone who has the same style you’re looking for, a personality that clicks with yours, and that person also has to be within your price range. So when I saw Jessica’s post last year that Tyler had popped the question, I silently hoped she would choose me as her photographer. You see, I’m a big fan of these two. I’ve seen them attend weddings together and dance the night away, Jess has been in several weddings that I’ve photographed, and in every encounter, they are just a fun, genuine couple that is totally in love. They are always smiling, and I love that so much.
You can see the love in the gentle parts of the day, too. Tyler was totally dressed and ready to go on time. Jess was flurrying around before the ceremony making sure everyone else was taken care of. I can’t tell you how many times throughout the day her friends (and myself too) had to say, “You don’t need to worry about that- it’s your wedding day! YOU’RE the bride!” It seemed surreal to Jess. She’s that incredibly trustworthy friend that has been in many weddings because she is always there for people. She’s the friend that takes care of everyone else and puts herself last. It was neat to see the tables turned and watch her allow herself to be taken care of.
The ceremony at The Woman’s Club of Portsmouth was beautiful, they danced the night away thanks to DJ Rodney Charles, ate delicious food from The Cooking Lady, and at the end I could tell it was bittersweet for the night to end. Here’s to a beautiful marriage ahead!
